In this research, we aim to visualize internal information of materials using electromagnetic wave analysis technologies, thereby reducing the complexity of manufacturing processes and material losses that have long been considered unavoidable in the manufacturing industry, and ultimately contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
In the case of wood materials, internal properties cannot be accurately assessed in advance, leading to variability in strength and the need for conservative design margins and extended construction schedules to ensure safety.
This project will, for the first time in the world, enable three-dimensional reconstruction using electromagnetic waves, allowing pre-acquisition of internal density information. By doing so, we aim to significantly improve production efficiency and material yield through optimized design and processing based on internal material characteristics.
