Approximately 42% of global total food production is lost due to plant diseases, insect pests, and weeds. In addition, recent trends such as global warming and increasing globalization have raised concerns about the emergence and spread of transboundary crop pests and diseases. To address these challenges, we aim to commercialize a startup, the NARO Plant Hospital®, which leverages AI and ICT technologies to accurately diagnose plant diseases and provide appropriate countermeasures.
