However, their short shelf life makes them unsuitable for large\u2011scale export by sea, limiting international distribution.<br \/>\nTo address this challenge, we aim to develop long\u2011shelf\u2011life fruits by controlling ethylene signaling, the hormonal pathway responsible for fruit ripening, and creating ethylene\u2011low\u2011sensitivity varieties.
