Wood-based boards manufactured by fiberizing or chipping such waste and thinning materials and molding them with adhesives are widely used as construction materials for housing and furniture. However, formaldehyde, a functional component contained in commonly used adhesives, is derived from fossil fuel resources (natural gas), raising concerns about future resource depletion. As sustainability becomes a key priority, the development of alternatives to formaldehyde has therefore become an urgent challenge.<br \/>\nIn this study, we are working to establish technologies for producing truly sustainable wood-based boards by replacing conventional adhesives with naturally derived components.
